A Ugly Win
Submitted By: Mary Linehan We were glued to the televisions with foolish optimism that sanity would prevail within the honorable chamber of the House of Representatives, and forced ourselves to watch the culminations of lies and bribes embraced by 219 dishonorable representatives as the betrayed the American people and voted for the health care bill we had begged to be bagged and buried. We fought the good fight writing the emails, twittering and making the endless phone calls to send the message to hold firm and protect our beautiful Constitution and represent the will of the people. Several times we gathered peacefully in Washington to demonstrate our commitment to defeat this ominous bill.The Democrats chose to ignore us. They cowardly voted for a bill through an electronic device, thus obfuscating, for at least one night, their culpability in what will be known as the demise of quality health care in this country and the beginning of the end of our individual freedom, as this bill is not about the improvement of health care, but about controlling the people through mandates, IRS monthly invasion into our lives. These are just the tip of the intrusive government takeover. This is freedom? No, this is a start of a communist state that the progressive Democrats like Obama, Pelosi and the Clintons have been working on for many years. Who is to blame for this debacle? People who are right of center are in part to blame for being too trusting and polite. We were raised to respect everyone and to play fair. Our naïveté had us believing that the rest of the world played the same way. For years they have said and done thing to demean us. We believed in the First Amendment and held strong that they had the right to express their opinions. They insidiously chipped away at our moral character, leaving us to look like the culprits for the evil that exists in this world. We thought them misguided and harmless. We were wrong! We failed to realize that evil men were usurping our non governmental check and balance granted by the First Amendment. We failed to demand that the news media live up to impeccable standards of journalism. Ambitious men like Jeff Immelt saw a large profit to be had if GE/NBC kissed up to the progressive Democrats for government perks at the bargain basement price of suppressing unfavorable news regarding Democrat leadership. Mainstream media sold their soul to work while biting their tongues to perpetuate the lies and deceptions. Everything was nicely orchestrated to avoid the tough question that would reveal the true nature and goal of Obama. Later it was a gag order to suppress the news. MSM was negligent! They failed to provide the truth about this health care plan. They forfeit their professional journalist integrity to become despicable pawns in the progressive Democrats’ game against the people of this country. They did, however, launch attacks on those that were disseminating the real news like Fox Newsand the Washington Examiner. A good many Americans sort the truth, but others faithfully tuned into the MSM and bought the misinformation. The power of the press has been compromised by owners that sit on the administrations advisory boards. The health care bill passed and is precariously poised to do major harm to our Democratic Republic. There may have been a totally different outcome had there been the free flow of information. Last is our infamous Congress. The Democrats have lost touched with reality and have forgotten the reason why they were sent. They believe that they can do anything and not have to answer to the people. They operate on the premise that we are not smart enough to know what we want or need and have a short memory. They are dead wrong! These 219 people have not honored the oath to uphold and protect our Constitution and failed to govern by the consent of the people. Their ignorance and arrogance has placed their political career in grave peril.Democrats in Congress and in the White House have failed to realize that we, the people are no longer strangers, but have become a strong family united by our love of country and bonded by the pledged to take it back and to vote out those who deem it okay to make up rules and trample upon our Constitution. Beware Democrats, as to quote John Paul Jones, “We have not yet begun to fight”. November, 2010 cannot come soon enough! |
